| British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) | The BBC website covers a huge range of topics. |
| American Broadcasting Company (ABC) | The ABC News site covers US stories fully. |
| Andrew Sullivan | Andrew Sullivan writes cogently and forthrightly on a wide variety of subjects, mainly from a right-wing perspective; some of his views are decidedly bizarre and seem unmoderated by any attempt at objectivity. He is of British origin and is homosexual and these two factors add an extra 'piquancy' to much of his writing. The other sites opposite comment critically on his writing, positively and [mainly] negatively - sometimes amusing, usually stimulating. |
| Anorak | Anorak takes a slightly scurrilous look at the news as published in the British tabloids and broadsheets. It often succeeds, I think, in getting at the 'essence' of the news and is often humourous. |
| Drudge Report | US-based site - really a source of links to news stories from around the world and of course with a heavy emphasis on US-stories. I think he succeeds in avoiding letting his personal views intrude upon his basically factual reporting/linking, although some other 'bloggers' consider him to be unreconstructedly right-wing. A breath of fresh air. |
| Cchange was founded in Spring 2002 to act as a pressure group for change in the Conservative Party; it is chaired by Francis Maude MP. If the Conservative Party is ever to recover and prosper, I suspect it is people like Cchange who will help make it happen. (I resigned from the Conservative Party in September 2001, in the wake of the folly [in my view] of electing Iain Duncan Smith to lead the Party.) |

Kings Cross Steelers
Rugby Football Club |
The 'Steelers' are a London-based gay rugby club; I have been a supporter (i.e. non-playing!) for about a year. The Club exists to provide a team framework where mainly gay or bisexual men may play and compete in the sport, although people who are not gay or bisexual are welcomed, too. |
